Star Patrick Murray, widely recognized for taking on the role of Mickey Pearce in the classic sitcom Only Fools and Horses, has passed away at 68.
During 2021, the actor disclosed that he received a diagnosis of lung cancer and underwent an procedure to remove a tumor in his lung in its early stages.
He said in 2022 that his cancer specialist had told him that his âlung cancer was eradicated and that the tumor in his liver organ was reducingâ, but by April 2023 he announced it had recurred.
Murray starred as Mickey, a not-so-bright mate of the character played by David Jason Del Boy and Nicholas Lyndhurstâs Rodney Trotter, across two dozen episodes of the comedy series between 1983 to 2003.
Prior to his role in the series, Patrick Murray featured in movies like Quadrophenia, Scum, and Curse of the Pink Panther.
His other TV appearances included the nineties show The Upper Hand, The Bill, ITV Playhouse, and Bergerac.
